Il belga Didier Dhondt, Belga, personal trainer di 48 anni, conquista il 3° Sardinia Trail dopo 3 tappe e 100 km, tra i monti del Gennargentu e e le incantevoli spiagge d’Ogliastra....

Vittoria inaspettata del belga che si trovava al secondo posto della generale con un distacco da Salaris di 09m08sec.

L’atleta di Uri, protagonista nelle prime due tappe non si aggiudica quindi quella decisiva, la terza di questa edizione, la Lanusei-Arzana-Gairo-Lanusei di Km, conclusasi oggi a Lanusei.

Salaris nella terza tappa al novantacinquesimo km commette un errore nell’interpretazione del percorso che non gli consente di andare avanti nella gara e decide così di ritirarsi. La terza tappa viene vinta dunque   dall’olandese Guido Van Meeteren, il primo a tagliare il traguardo nella via Roma con un tempo di  2h41m14sec. Una fatale distrazione, questa, per l’atleta Sardo che ha visto così svanire il sogno di vincere il sardinia Trail, dopo due edizioni da secondo posto, regalando così la vittoria al Belga.

Nella terza tappa Dhont si aggiudica un terzo posto distanziandosi di 14m,48 dall’olandese. Il secondo posto va, invece, al Cagliaritano Francesco Puddu che, con un distacco di 01,m54sec, scavalca di 3 posizioni i suoi contendenti nella classifica generale di ieri  e  si guadagna, così,  un meritato secondo posto assoluto.

Dopo la stremante prova di ieri mattina, con la tappa più lunga ed impegnativa della manifestazione che ha reso protagonisti gli incredibili scenari del Gennargentu, ma che allo stesso tempo ha dato tanto filo da torcere anche ai trailers più temprati, hanno preso parte alla gara di oggi 66 atleti su 72 partecipanti. Ma dopo l’ottavo km di gara, sono sei i concorrenti a smarrirsi lungo il percorso; quattro dei quali hanno poi ripreso la marcia fino all’arrivo finale.

Il Sardinia Trail ha incoronato Reginetta della terza edizione l’italiana Silvia Givogre, con un ottimo undicesimo posto assoluto, il portento che per tutta la gara non ha lasciato spazio di rimonta alle sue avversarie ed ha dominato anche la tappa finale di questa manifestazione. Si guadagna  invece il secondo posto Daniela Carpani con un distacco di 19m31sec dalla prima

Molto soddisfatto Davide Ferreli Sindaco di Lanusei, il Comune sostenitore  e  patrocinatore dell’evento “Questa manifestazione – spiega – evidenzia lo spirito dell’amministrazione Comunale di creare eventi e occasioni che siano da stimolo per far conoscere il nostro territorio a livello internazionale ed il Sardinia Trail rappresenta un’opportunità unica per raggiungere questo obiettivo”

Antonio Filippo Salaris “X un banale errore di percorso al 95 km nn ho potuto festeggiare la vittoria del Sardinia trail ! In futuro dovrò stare più attento . Lo spirito di chi fa queste gare deve essere sempre positivo .....e il mio lo è sempre !!!! Complimenti a chi ha concluso la gara e all'ottima organizzazione!!

Didier Dhondt “Sono emozionato per aver conquistato la vetta di questa prestigiosa manifestazione. Sono stati tre giorni di gara molti duri ed intensi. Infatti  proprio nell’ultima tappa ho dovuto  dosare le energie per contrastare il ritorno dei mei avversari.”

SALARIS MISTAKES AND DHONDT WINS THE  3RD  SARDINIA TRAIL  

The Belgium Didier Dhondt, personal trainer, 48 years old, wins the 3rd Sardinia Trail after 3 stages and 100 km, between the Gennargentu mountains and the beautiful beaches of Ogliastra.

Unexpected victory of the Belgian who was second in the overall standings with a detachment of Salaris 09m08sec.

Athlete of Uri, the protagonist in the first two stages not won the decisive one, the third of this year, the Lanusei-Arzana-Gairo-Lanusei, which ended today in Lanusei.

Salaris in the third stage to ninety miles made a mistake in the interpretation of the path that does not allow him to go ahead in the race and decided to retire. The third stage was won by Dutchman Guido Van Meeteren, the first to cross the finish line in the Roma Street with a time of 2h41m14sec. A fatal distraction for the sardinian athlete who saw sto vanish the dream of winning the sardinia Trail, after two editions in second place, giving the victory to the Belgian.

In the 3rd stage the 3rd place for Dhont with a detachment of 14m,48 from Van Meeteren. The second place Francesco Puddu who with a  a detachment of 01,m54sec takes the 2nd place in the overall standings.

66 athletes participated in the race today. But after the eighth kilometer race, there were six competitors to get lost along the way; Four of them then started the march until the end.

For the woman standing the italian Silvia Givogre wins also the final stage, with the 11th plays in the overall standings The 2nd place for Daniela Carpani with detachment of 19m31sec from the first.
