VITTORIA CON RECORD PER KILIAN JORNET IN AUSTRALIA

Il campione catalano del Team Salomon International vince la prima gara della stagione di Trail Runnnig con il tempo di 9h19'. Il precedente primato cronometrico del percorso era di 9h53'...

Il Nord Face100k ha uno sviluppo di 100km con 5000m di dislivello: " Ho corso con François d'Haene per gran parte della gara e ciò mi ha aiutato a superare la parte più dura; soprattuttutto quella dopo il 50° km".

Ennesima grande performance, dunque, per la stella del Team Salomon International che, non solo ha vinto, ma ha pure polverizzato il precedente migliore crono della gara (9h53') fermando l'orologio sul tempo di 9h19'. Performance sensazionale se si pensa che quella australiana era la sua prima uscita a soli 15 giorni dall'ultimo successo scialpinistico: il Trofeo Mezzalama.

Archiviato questo prima trasferta da record, ora nel mirino di Kilian Jornet vi è il Red Bull Eléments a Chamonix (21Maggio) e la Maratona di Zegama il 29.

Il Nord Face 100K è incluso nel progetto che Kilian e il Team Salomon stanno portando avanti per questa stagione: 5 gare nei 5 continenti. Dopo l'Australia il campione catalano andrà in Giappone per il Monte Fuji Ultra Trail, in Europa per il Mont-Blanc Ultra Trail, in Africa, negli USA per il Western States 100 in Grecia e Peru.

Kilian's victory in the first race of the Trail Running Season: The North Face 100 K, with a time of 9:19 h., breaking the previous race record established in 9:53 h.

"My legs have endured the race very well" the Catalan athlete comments.

The North Face 100K , a race of 100 km with 5000 meters drop.

Excellent Trail Running season beginning for the Catalan athlete Kilian Jornet who has achieved the North Face 100K victory. A 100 Km race with 5000 vertical meters and which meant the premiere of Jornet in Trail Runing season.

"I have run with François d'Haene for almost the entire race and this has helped me to go to a good pace and surpass the hard parts of the race, especially the last 50 km" Jornet says. He has managed to escape at the kilometre 95 and he has win.

"I am very happy, the feeling was very good, we could go at a leisurely pace and my legs have responded well" Killian says. He was accompanied by almost all the way by another Salomon Team's athlete, François D'Haene.

Jornet has achieved a new record by stopping the chrono at 9:19:06, breaking the previous record set at 9:53. "I didn't expect find me so well in the first race. I guess it will come on leg pain" Killian said after finishing the first ultra distance race of the season with only 80 km of training for the legs, after completing last weekend an excellent sky mountaineering I which stand their victories in World Cup, the 3 gold achieved in Claut World championship and victories in prestigious races as Pierre Menta or Mezzalama.

Kilian came to Australia a few days ago with nine other members of the International Salomon Team to begin to adapt the body to the time change and time conditions in Australia. "We have noticed the time change in the early days but we are now adapted to 100%"

After this victory, Kilian travels tomorrow to Chamonix to prepare his next challenges, Red Bull elements on May 21 and Zegama Marathon on May 29.

The North Face 100K was included in the new Salomon and Kilian Jornet's project racing for this season: five races, five continents, starting in Australia and also going to Japan in the Mount Fuji Ultra Trail, Europe in the Mont-Blanc Ultra Trail, Africa, the Western States 100 in The USA and Killian's Quest in Greece and Peru.
