Sia i campioni delle vertical, sia quelli delle ultra avranno quindi la possibilità di mettersi in luce conquistando gloria (e premi in denaro) Cinque super gare costituiscono la Main Series dalla quale scegliere due delle tre prove obbligatorie nelle tre altre sezioni per conquistare il titolo di Skyrunner® World Series Champion 2012

 

La nuova "Ultra Series", in un certo senso, riflette la sempre più crescente richiesta di gare di lunga distanza. Non si scenderà sotto gli 80km, ma in compenso ci saranno le faticose salite e le quote che da sempre contraddistinguono lo skyrunning. Il Mammut 83 km Transvulcania, alle Canarie, darà il via alle Ultra il 12 maggio. Qui, i top runner di tutto il mondo si sfideranno in questa gara che si preannuncia la quintessenza dello skyrunning - dal mare alla vetta con 8.525 m di impegnativa salita e discesa lungo cresta dell'isola con visuale a picco sul mare.

 

 

Un clima più fresco ci sarà al via dei circuiti Vertical and SkyRace®, in Russia sul Monte Elbrus il 7 e 9 maggio con molta neve e altitudine per stuzzicare l'appetito degli skyrunner più esperti.

 

Venti gare spettacolari, tra le quali molte news entry, apriranno le loro porte agli skyrunner in quella che promette di essere il miglior calendario di coppa per date, numero di gare, montepremi e, naturalmente, chilometri e altitudine - per la cronaca, 680 km e 48.000 m di dislivello positivo

New year, new calendar, new format. The 2012 Skyrunner® World Series calendar offers a distance for every runner with stand-alone circuits where both Vertical and Ultra champions will have a taste of the glory (and prize money).

 

Five all-time greats make up the main section with a choice of two out of three compulsory races in the other three sections for the Skyrunner® World Series champion title.

 

Twenty spectacular races, many of them new entries, will open their doors to skyrunners across the world in what promises to be the best calendar to date with more races, more awards, more prize money and, of course, more kilometres and more altitude - for the record, 680 kilometres and 48,000m vertical climb!

Ranking points in the final races will be increased by 20%.
