Tanti gli argomenti all’ordine del giorno, anticipati dalla relazione del padrone di casa, il presidente della Federazione Sci Turca Alaattin Karaka presente con il proprio team di tecnici federali. «La nostra federazione – ha sottolineato Karaka – conta su un numero importante di club montani, impegnati in particolar modo nell’organizzazione di competizioni a carattere locale e nazionale, ma il nostro obiettivo è quello di far crescere la specialità dello sci alpinismo in Turchia e per fare questo è nostra intenzione poter organizzare in un futuro una competizione internazionale, un’indispensabile volano promozionale».

Ringraziando per l’ospitalità il presidente Ismf Lluis Lopez si è detto disponibile, assieme al suo staff per cercare di aiutare una federazione emergente come quella turca e l’organizzazione di questo meeting è sicuramente un segnale importante per riuscire ad impostare un lavoro mirato nei prossimi anni. «Uno degli obiettivi di Ismf – ha evidenziato Lopez – è quello di adottare una strategia che riesca, tramite il reperimento di risorse e l’incremento della comunicazione, ad aiutare anche le federazioni emergenti».

L’aspetto di maggior rilievo discusso e approvato durante il Management Committee riguarda invece l’assegnazione del Campionato Europeo 2012 di sci alpinismo alla località francese di Pelvoux nelle Alpi del Delfinato, dove fra l’altro il prossimo gennaio si disputerà anche la prova inaugurale di Coppa del Mondo.
Si è poi discusso e sulle modalità di sviluppo delle strategie della ISMF per il futuro, argomento per il quale hanno dato un’importante contributo i membri del Management Committee e la rappresentante del nuovo gruppo di lavoro creato nell’ultima assemblea generale, Tamara Schlemmer della Deutscher Alpenverein.

Nello stesso fine settimana si è poi svolta un’importante riunione con 25 club della Turchia, ai quali i referenti tecnici della ISMF coordinati da André Dugit hanno illustrato le modalità sportive e i regolamenti adottati dalla stessa federazione internazionale. In conclusione si è deciso di organizzare per il mese di gennaio 2011 un seminario tecnico con la Federazione turca.

Great success for the ISMF Management Committee held in Izmir, Turkey's third largest and historically famous city.
Many topics were on the agenda presented by the president of the Turkish Ski Federation Alaattin Karaka, accompanied by his team of federal technicians.
"Our federation - said Karaka - relies on a large number of mountain clubs, which go to special efforts in organizing local and national competitions. Our goal is to increase awareness of the ski mountaineering sport in Turkey. To achieve this goal we intend to organize an international competition in the future, which will be an indispensable promotional element".

ISMF President Lluis Lopez thanked the president for his hospitality and gave his and his staff’s availability to assist the Turkish federation in its making. The organization of this meeting is certainly an important signal to set well focused work in the coming years . "One of the objectives of ISMF - said Lopez - is to adopt a strategy, through the availability of resources and communication, which will aid emerging federations such as this one."
The main aspect discussed and approved during the Management Committee pertains to the 2012 European Championship, awarded to the Alpine ski resort of Pelvoux, in the Dauphiné Alps, France. Next January, the opening World Cup competition will take place there.

Future ISMF strategies were discussed. An important contribution came from the members of the Management Committee together with the new representative of the working group created during the last general meeting, Tamara Schlemmer of the Deutscher Alpenverein.
That same weekend an important meeting was held with 25 clubs in Turkey. The ISMF technical authorities, coordinated by André Dugit, illustrated the types of sport and international regulations adopted by the association. In conclusion, a technical seminar meeting with the Turkish Federation was called for the month of January 2011.
